Service Program Manager – Vida Maddumahewa
Vida has over 15 years of experience working with children. She holds a Diploma in Early Education and Care and has been working at YWCA Canberra for the past four years. Vida is passionate about being positive, maintaining a happy outlook, and helping others feel happy in her presence. She believes that every child is unique and deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. Vida is committed to collaboration, learning from others, and always striving to do her best. She enjoys building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and is dedicated to creating a caring and positive learning environment.
Our Before and After School Care service at Hawker Primary School operates across the school hall and canteen foyer, creating flexible spaces that support both small and large group experiences. The school’s open outdoor environments are easily accessible, providing opportunities for children to connect with both natural and built spaces. These settings support active play, exploration, and meaningful social interactions in a dynamic and welcoming environment.
Community building
Regular visits to local parks, ANZAC Parade and surrounding communities foster a strong sense of belonging.
Diversity and culture
Diversity is core to everything we do — we build interactive, culturally rich communities for every child in our care.
Government subsidies
As a government-approved service, families may be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help offset fees.
Education and learning
Our program is inspired by children’s interests, voices and ideas — building a foundation for lifelong learning.
Play-based curriculum
Qualified educators design rich play experiences that develop physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills.
