About us
Childcare Services
YWCA Canberra cares for around 3000 children each week through our children’s services. We develop and create learning environments that reflect the children and families we work with, the community we live in and the values of our organisation.
Our Program Directors work collaboratively with our Community Services team to identify and refer children and families that require additional support. This is part of our commitment to ensuring all children and families are supported to participate fully in our community.
Our aim is to ensure high quality, evidence-based programs are provided to support children, families and educators through our inclusive service delivery. The principles and practices of programs are designed to promote children’s holistic development.
We offer early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Care and School Holiday Programs across the Canberra region.
YWCA Canberra operates an accredited in-house training organisation, delivering high-quality training for the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. This approach ensures robust quality assurance and forms a key component of our comprehensive child safeguarding strategy.
By providing and requiring high quality training for individuals entering or currently employed in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, YWCA Canberra reinforces a culture of safety and excellence. As a direct provider of ECEC services, our qualified trainers and assessors educate current sector knowledge and best practices, further strengthening our commitment to the protection of children in our care.
