Our approach to Early Childhood Education and School Age Care

YWCA Canberra’s Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and School Age Care (SAC) programs are grounded in respect, trust, safeguarding, and a commitment to creating environments where every child feels safe, valued, and able to thrive. We have a strong commitment to safety and to empowering children to have a voice in the service they attend.

Legislation and regulatory framework

YWCA Canberra abides by the legislation and regulations that govern education and care services for children. Our Early Childhood Education and Care and School Age Care programs operate under the Education and Care Services National Law (ACT) Act 2011 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations, which form part of the National Quality Framework for children’s education and care in Australia.

Families can access more information about the legislative and regulatory framework through:

YWCA Canberra Policies
