The children at Campbell Cottage recently embraced the thrill of National Science Week.
From exploring the explosions of bubbles, to motion and gravity painting, the children in the nursery room participated in a range of science learning activities focused on the beauty of colors and art.
The toddlers had a fantastic time learning about the vastness of the universe and the wonders of space. They recreated nebulas using playdough, drew chalk solar systems to understand the location of the planets, and even made their own planets using paper mache paste.
In the preschool room, children learnt about the causes of natural phenomena like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, floods and volcanos.
Across all our rooms, we have noticed a real interest in science and are incorporating this into our future programming. We even managed to tie the science into our Book Week celebrations, reading The Planets in our Solar System by Franklyn Mansfield.
