Any parent of school age children will likely know they can get a bit… raucous after a busy day at school. So it’s important to have places for children to relax and wind down at the end of the day.
At our Charles Conder school age care service, the educators and children have developed a beautiful quiet room exactly for this purpose. The children helped set up the space and gave input on how it should be decorated. This includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pieces and colour-changing lights that the children love!
The children also worked together to make a mural for the room on International Day of Friendship.
This room is now a permanent feature of the Charles Conder service where they can participate in quiet experiences.
