Providing care and education for your child in the heart of the community
YWCA Canberra provides quality before and after school care and school holiday programs for school age children. We work closely with families, the school and the community.
Our focus and primary goal is to provide high-quality education and care to all children attending our programs through inclusive, holistic, and stimulating educational programs, practices and pedagogies.
We have demonstrated experience across 12 ACT Government and Catholic school age care programs in developing and implementing educational programs based around children’s sense of identity, connectedness with the world, self-confidence, and wellbeing. We recognise that an inclusive and holistic educational program allows educators to foster and scaffold children’s education of all ages, and we maintain a proactive and passionate approach to this element of education and care.

YWCA Canberra is proud to provide a team of dedicated, passionate educators that are committed to delivering the best possible environments and experiences for children throughout all stages of development.
Our program managers and educators participate in a wide variety of professional development and training to further extend their skills and knowledge.
Our school age care services are supported and overseen by a Quality Support Team, consisting of an Operations Manager, an Inclusion Officer, three Quality Support Officers, a Roster Clerk and a Pedagogical Manager.
All our school age care programs are approved for the Child Care Subsidy. They are fully licensed and operate under the National Quality Standards and National Quality Framework.
